6 days desert adventure from Marrakech

1st Day: Marrakech Rose valley – Dades Valley.

As our eventful Morocco trip begins, we leave Marrakech and go through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. This series is breathtaking, with its steep landscape and traditional Berber settlements clinging to the mountainside. Then, the views provide glimpses into the daily lives of the Berber people, whose rich culture has thrived in this harsh environment. Along the route, the Atlas Studios, a historic film studio known for creating many famous films. The Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Alexander are the most famous that were filmed in this studio, capturing the eye with its grandeur from the outside.The history of this historic fortification is revealed during a visit to the Amredil Kasbah in Skoura. After that, we will continue the journey, encircled by verdant palm groves. then the Kasbah will offer a peaceful environment conducive to exploration. The route passes through the fragrant Rose Valley and arrives at the striking Dades Valley scenery. After that, we will hike under the guidance of a native guide, taking in the untamed beauty of the valley, terraced crops. In addition to being a means of physical exercise, the walk facilitates cross-cultural understanding by offering insights into the customs of this region.

2nd Day: Dades Valley – Rock climbing – Rissani Authentic Souk

On the second day of this 6 days desert adventure, Marrakech departs from Dades and heads towards the Todra Valley. Here, the drive creates excitement for the activities ahead by showcasing the constantly shifting scenery, from lush meadows to untamed gorges. The day’s high point is reached in Todra Canyon, a natural wonderland with towering cliffs that create an otherworldly atmosphere. Here, we will enjoy rock climbing in the stunning surroundings, all under the supervision of a local expert climber.

After lunch, the route continues to Rissani, a city rich in authenticity and history, leaving the hilly landscape behind. After checking into the hotel, visitors leave their bags there and explore Rissani’s lively streets and bustling marketplaces. In fact, the busy ambience of the city offers a view of Morocco’s colourful culture and business. After feeling the sounds of merchants bartering, the smells of spices, and the vivid colors of the market forming a brilliant tapestry of Moroccan life, exploring Rissani becomes a sensory experience. By the end of the day, one has a greater understanding of the various aspects of this fascinating nation.

3rd Day: Rissani – visit Nomadic Family – Ride Camels – night in a desert camp

On the third day of our eventful Morocco trip, the route heads for the renowned Merzouga Desert. Without a doubt, Merzouga has enormous stretches of golden sand dunes that extend for as far as the eye can see. While visiting a nomadic family in the desert en route, we will enjoy a unique cultural experience. Therefore, enjoy a cup of traditional Moroccan tea while learning about the nomadic lifestyle. Furthermore, learning how resilient and adaptable these tribes are in the harsh desert climate is an intimate experience.

After arriving in the desert, a leisurely walk through a verdant oasis offers a striking contrast to the parched terrain. Hence, it illustrates the precarious equilibrium between the natural world and human existence in this harsh setting. Following lunch, the trip takes an amazing turn as we meet the camel man and begin riding across huge dunes. Indeed, the expanse of the Sahara, combined with the rhythmic swinging of the camels, creates an otherworldly feeling. Suddenly, the caravan stops as the sun starts to set, letting us enjoy the breathtaking spectacle of the sunset. Eventually, the day ends in a desert camp where our friendly hospitality is paired with a cup of mint tea.  Thereafter, create the atmosphere for traditional Berber drumming beneath the stars, leaving enduring memories of the captivating splendor of the Sahara.

4th Day: Dakar Road Merzouga – Ouzina wild desert – Ramlia Oasis – Tafraoute sidi Ali

On the fourth day of 6-day desert adventure from Marrakech, we will take an exciting day journey from the Merzouga desert to the settlement of Sidi Ali, where tranquillity and adventure coexist together. After a fascinating dawn and a filling breakfast at our tent, we will head further into the Sahara to explore the less-visited areas and independently follow the Rally Dakar route over the sweeping, unspoiled terrain. We’ll travel to the isolated Ouzina desolate desert, where we’ll have a genuine, immersive experience. We’ll continue our off-road adventure by traveling into the Ghris valley and taking in the stunning surroundings. The highlight of the day will be at the oasis of Ramlia, where we’ll take a leisurely picnic beneath the shade of a Saharan tree while strolling through verdant fields. Following a filling lunch, we will continue our tour into the interior of the Hamada desert to the charming Tafraoute Sidi Ali, a place brimming with the charm of the unspoiled Sahara.

5th Day: Sidi Ali Tafraoute – Draa valley – Ouarzazate

The stunning sight of the Sahara sunrise, a momentous occasion that bathes the desert in hues of gold and pink, heralds the start of a new day. Travelers can take in the calm beauty of the Sahara before breakfast at the in the hotel, which signals the start of the trek to Ouarzazate. A stop at a museum exhibiting fossils from the Anti-Atlas Mountains along the route offers an intriguing geological viewpoint to the journey.

As you continue your drive, you’ll pass through beautiful views of Morocco’s longest valley, the Draa Valley, which is home to quaint towns and lush palm groves. Enjoying Morocco’s varied landscapes and rich cultural diversity is possible at every visit. The day ends in Ouarzazate, which is sometimes called the “Hollywood of Africa.” Ouarzazate is a destination that effortlessly blends culture, history, and the magic of the big screen. As visitors tour the city, the blend of traditional Moroccan architecture and the cinematic charm of the Atlas Film Studios adds a distinct depth to the whole experience.

6th Day:  Ouarzazate –  Ride horses in Ait Ben Haddou, Marrakech

from Ouarzazate the last day of this fascinating desert odyssey and winds through some of Southern Morocco’s most striking scenery. The imposing Taourirte Kasbah, a historic stronghold that bears witness to the area’s illustrious past, is the first destination. The Kasbah, which is perched on a hill with a good view of the surrounding landscapes, makes for an ideal backdrop for pictures. As you go further, the journey comes to an end at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After enjoying its unique clay design, this old stronghold has been featured in many TV shows and movies. Moreover, the horses will take you to explore the tiny lanes and ascend the small hills for a distinctive viewpoint that highlights the magnificence of this monument.

After lunch, the trip takes a sharp turn as passengers cross the High Atlas Mountains once more. They wind over narrow roads, photographing the amazing scenery. Also driving to Marrakech gives us time to consider the various experiences we have had over the last five days.
